Kids for Casita Linda
Kids for Casita Linda launched in 2015 with Maddie’s Lemonade Stand. Maddie García Nieto and her classmates from the Academia Internacional raised money for Casita Linda at food festivals around San Miguel for several years.
Later, the kids organized back-to-school backpack drives and clothing, toy, and blanket drives at Christmastime. Classes from the Academia Internacional have helped paint Casita Linda homes many times.
This spring, the 9th-grade class of Academia Internacional, at the helm of Kids for Casita Linda, stepped up to help build house #144 in the rural community of La Cieneguita. What an incredible day of learning, giving back, and community building.
The current Kids for Casita Linda board consists of Maddie García Nieto, Tristan Jackson, and Alex Utskot in San Miguel de Allende and Colin Kitzman in New York City.
